Importance of a Gardening Catalog

There are many important things to remember with gardening, whether you are just taking it up as a hobby or are a seasoned professional who already knows the ropes. Topping the list of things you should remember is a gardening catalog.

Although at first it may sound like an unimportant issue, gardening catalogs can come in handy, and are a good place for answers when you have questions about gardening. A gardening catalog can offer you more than tips and tricks, it can help you understand the basics and the advanced techniques of gardening, and help you become a more knowledgeable and comprehensive gardener.

Make Sure to Put Yourself on the Mailing Lists

There are a number of different gardening catalogs you can choose from, especially now as the hobby has swung into full force and it seems that many people are participating in at least some own form of gardening. An important factor in regards to the gardening catalog is to make sure you are on the mailing lists. This way, you can be sure to receive all of the different catalogs available, and perhaps find one you favor above the rest, to which you can either subscribe, or continue to buy retail.

What are some of the Available Gardening Catalogs?

American Meadows offers a gardening catalog which specializes in wildflowers, but recently have expanded their offerings to include such elements as grass, perennials, trees, ferns, and more.

Bluestone Perennials offers a catalog with a rather large selection of perennials, and if you decide to shop on their online catalog, you can search by zone, color, soil, height, bloom time, exposure, and plant type.

High Country Gardens considers themselves to be plants for western gardens, and they have an extensive collection of drought tolerant plants as well as loads of offered information.

An excellent website to look at is "Cyndi's Catalog of Garden Catalogs" which basically lists each and every available gardening catalog, with the websites and contact information given as well. This website allows you to surf through an array of topics on different plant types and even allows you to choose which location you want more information on.

Some of the different topics include: aquatic, bamboo, bonsai, clematis, daylilies, ferns, iris, lilies, orchids, vegetables, trees, tropical, wholesale, and wildflowers - to name a few. This provides an easy and incredibly helpful way to find a good gardening catalog.
