Fine Gardening Magazine Online

Taunton's publishing provides a list of magazines and books that are sure to delight every gardener, from novice to expert. A very classy publication, indeed-- Fine Gardening is a magazine you can subscribe to and receive a hard copy or an e-mail copy (or both). You can even order slipcases to hold back issues, which are available for $6.99 each. There is a page on the website to pick the back orders you'd like to receive which are promised to be in mint condition.

Online Preview

On the Fine Gardening web site (http://magazine-directory.com/Fine-Gardening.htm ), you may view the table of contents and preview some of the articles appearing in the current issue. Also very helpful is the online advertiser directory; which some consider as the most important feature of a good magazine. The video clips are a nice addition, and range in topics from insects to deer damage.

Article Library

There are several different categories of articles available at Fine Gardening online, including Garden Design, Hardscape and Structures, Shrubs and Trees and Pests and Diseases. There are other publications that may address one or two of the topics, but nowhere else is it easier to locate the entire collection of topics in well-written articles. There is even some reader interaction including surveys, photo contests and solicited stories under the Online Extras link.

Special Features

One of the most fascinating features of Fine Gardening online is the Pronunciation Guide to Botanical Latin. This is necessary for every would-be gardener, and not bad for crossword puzzle or Scrabble enthusiasts, as well. The magazine's online message board forum is entitled Over the Fence. Beginners can ask their questions and get seasoned gardeners to answer them. While you must sign up to join the forum, there are recent discussions and threads available to everyone that can be found on the left hand column of the login page of the forum.

Books and Other Publications

Calendar of Events

Whether you live in the northeast or southwest United States or abroad, there are events happening near you. These are not necessarily Fine Gardening events, but are dates submitted by other organizations or advertisers. Just click on the link found on the left hand side of the Fine Gardening web page(s) to access the calendar of national and international events.
