Essential Gardening Tool

With all the tools we have available today, the most important and significant gardening tool of all is actually our own body. We must be sure to take care of our bodies while gardening, as well as remember to position our bodies properly, in order to prevent ourselves from enduring aches and pains afterwards.

By taking the time to learn how to properly position the body, one can continue to enjoy the hobby of gardening without having any pain take them away from it.

How to Properly Position Body

There are many areas of the body which we must remember to focus on in order to minimize muscle fatigue and soreness. The back is one of the most important, and there are several key pointers in order to position the back properly.

First, make sure to bend at the knees and hips when lifting and holding objects. Be sure to use an erect body posture when working at ground level, in order to avoid kinking the back muscles, and if you are someone who happens to already have existing back problems, be sure to take advice such as this even more seriously, in order to avoid further problems.

Considering that our body is the most essential gardening tool, out of all the available limbs on our body, the hands are the most important gardening tool of all. Positioning the hands properly during gardening consists of making sure to work with the wrists and hands in a neutral position especially if working against resistance.

Also remember to spread the tasks you have in regards to gardening throughout different days, in consideration of the fact that completing tasks repetitively will cause soreness and muscle aches, so completing the tasks throughout several days rather than pushing them all into one.

In regards to what gardening tool is best for use, there are several pointers which must be taken into consideration. For instance, shorter tool handles provide greater leverage control, while longer tool handles provide greater power and are better for such things that will require your full body motion.

This also applies in consideration to an individual's height; obviously the taller you are, the taller gardening tool you will need, and the shorter you are, the shorter gardening tool you will need. By carefully evaluating the proper length you will need - in order to avoid excessive leaning - you can save your body from soreness and possible injury.
